STEW IN THEIR OWN JUICE
Matthew 7:6
"Don't give what is holy to dogs or throw your pearls to pigs. Otherwise, they will trample them and then tear you to pieces.
Jesus in the preceding verses warns us to not judge others while this verse seems to allow us to make a judgment about to whom we share the treasure of the gospel. However, there is no contradiction here. Share the good news about salvation through Jesus with everyone but beware of those, who having heard, violently reject the gift of salvation.
See the words of warning Jesus gave to his disciples when he sent them out in teams of two, "Wherever people don't welcome you or listen to you, leave and shake the dust from your feet as a warning to them." (Mark 6:11) There comes a time when we may "wash our hands" and move on.
My mother would say of those who argued with her, "Let them stew in their own juice." There is a time, when your help or guidance has been rejected, to abandon them to their own ways. We may not be the right messenger for that person. We can but plant the seed. We can not force out tho grow.
Here is further readings that may help clarify things for you.
Proverbs 3:27-35
Do not hold back anything good from those who are entitled to it when you have the power to do so. ... The devious person is disgusting to the LORD. The LORD's intimate advice is with decent people. The LORD curses the house of wicked people, but he blesses the home of righteous people. When he mocks the mockers, he is gracious to humble people. Wise people will inherit honor, but fools will bear disgrace.
Jeremiah 6:10
Whom can I speak to? Whom can I give a warning to? Who will listen? Their ears are plugged, and they aren't able to pay attention. When the LORD speaks his word to them, they show contempt for it and object to it.
